Letter From The Editor

Autumn … I love the fall season. As much as I generally enjoy summer, this year it has been just too hot and muggy. It’s probably been OK if you’re able to be at the lake, but going in and out of work … I find myself ready for the fall season earlier than ever.

Warm days and cool, crisp nights. The beautiful autumn moon. The fall colors, fall harvest and the simple change of seasons. Let yourself Live it!

In reviewing the feedback in regards to our first issue, prior to starting our second issue of Live it!, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone for their comments. It was overwhelming to hear the positive response to our debut issue.

Be sure to check out a few of the letters in our mailbag. Even the bits of constructive criticism provide food for thought and help us to see things as others see them.
So, thank you all.

As we started brainstorming ideas for our fall issue, thoughts of harvest, grape stomps and back-to-school ideas came to mind, as did fall fashion and relaxation after a busy summer.

Did you know there are several wineries right here in west central Minnesota to
explore? They offer fun fall activities: music, grape stomps and, of course, wine tasting.
We have some very talented winemakers in our midst. Be sure to check them out.

Our summer intern, Jasmine Maki, has a real flair for fashion and offers some creative tips for transitioning your summer wardrobe to fall by adding just five basic pieces.

Tailgating is the focus of our  food department for those who go out to the big game or simply enjoy the sport in the comfort of their home — or even while out camping.

And, of course, we can’t forget the back-to-school ideas that are all around us. This got us to wondering … how do parents make the decision to send their students to public school, vs. private school, vs. home-schooling? Come along as we hear from some parents who have made these tough decisions, which just seemed so right for them.

Continue to learn as we learn.

Share your ideas and interests with us and we’ll explore them together.

As always, between issues  we’ll keep you up to date on liveit.areavoices.com; follow us on Twitter @Liveitmag and keep in touch on facebook.com/liveitmag.
